Our Reviews
Your gum health is as important as your tooth health.
What is Gum Disease?
What Causes Gum Disease?
When gingivitis is left untreated, it can progress into periodontitis. Periodontitis is a severe infection of the gums, tooth-supporting tissues, teeth, and eventually jawbones. At this stage, the teeth may loosen in the socket until extraction is necessary.
Do I Have Gum Disease?
- Reddened gums
- Swollen or puffy gums
- Sore or tender gums
- Bleeding while brushing or flossing
- Bad breath or taste in mouth
- Pus between gums and teeth
- Loose or shifting teeth
- Receding gum tissue
- Teeth that look longer due to exposed tooth roots
- Changes in the way your teeth fit together
How is Gum Disease Treated?
- Scaling and Root Planing:
A deep cleaning procedure is performed to remove built-up plaque and tartar and prevent future infections. - Dental Crown Lengthening:
A minor surgical procedure performed to remove excess gum tissue and create a more attractive, natural-looking smile. - Gingivectomy:
A surgical procedure performed to remove damaged or diseased gum tissue and promote oral health. - Bone Grafting:
A surgical procedure performed to restore bone tissue lost due to gum disease.
